Terms of Service
Effective: October 2026 · Codex Labs
1. The service
Codex Labs provides an AI-assisted development environment plus a commercial control plane for accounts, subscriptions, usage metering, and support. Access to paid capabilities is governed by the plan active on your account.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account, including activity through registered application installations. Installations may be revoked at any time from your dashboard.
3. Plans, billing, and usage
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. Usage beyond included allowances is charged only where your plan permits overage, priced by versioned server-side rules, and bounded by any spend limit you set. Local inference performed entirely on your hardware is metered for analytics but never billed. Prices are determined by our backend — client-reported amounts are never authoritative.
4. Acceptable use
You may not probe, attack, or disrupt the platform; attempt to bypass entitlements, rate limits, or tenant isolation; resell access without an Enterprise agreement; or use the service to violate law or the rights of others.
5. Your content
Your source code, prompts, and project data are yours. The billing and metering systems record measurements (token counts, timing, models) — never the contents of your code or prompts.
6. Termination
You may cancel at any time; paid access continues to the end of the current period. We may suspend accounts for abuse, fraud, or material breach. Export of your usage and billing data remains available while your account is active.
7. Liability
The service is provided “as is” to the maximum extent permitted by law. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
